Education is one of the main factors that determine the future of our world. It not only contributes to the formation of a sustainable and viable society, but is also the key to achieving all other sustainable development goals. Not only the standard of living depends on education, but also the ability of people to solve global problems, from preserving the environment to overcoming poverty. This day, proclaimed by the UN, emphasizes the importance of equal access to education for all, without exception, regardless of gender, nationality or social status. In many countries where access to quality education is limited, this day has a special meaning. It also emphasizes the role of education in creating inclusive, just and prosperous communities. Let us remember: quality education is one of the cornerstones of victory and future success of the state. These truths are realized by a professor at Uzhhorod University who lectures students about the trenches on the front line; a Kyiv teacher who, due to the lack of electricity, holds a lesson near a supermarket right on the street; every educator who, despite the threat to his life, refused to collaborate with the occupiers and continued to teach children in the Ukrainian language and the Ukrainian curriculum underground. And most importantly, our children realize this, who continue to study with a candle or flashlight, in bomb shelters to the sounds of sirens, artillery and rocket attacks. Glory to Ukraine!
